The Photographer’s Guide to Inclusive Photography

On-Demand Webinars

PhotoShelter

Whether you're a seasoned photographer looking to share your experience, or an up-and-comer hoping to learn from the best, the PhotoShelter Mentorship Program is for you.

Apply to be matched with a fellow PhotoShelter member, and indicate whether you’d like to be a mentor or a mentee. For this upcoming class, we'll match 20 mentor/mentee pairings based on photographic specialties and business acumen.

Here’s the best part: Even if you’re not matched, every PhotoShelter member who applies will get access to our mentorship community on Slack. There, you’ll meet other photographers and get exclusive resources and benefits.

The PhotoShelter Mentorship Program will include:

  • Portfolio reviews

  • Marketing and business lessons

  • Website design and SEO tips

  • Photo management and archiving best practices

  • Special events and opportunities to network

Your questions answered

How many mentor/mentee matches will there be?

We plan to have 20 mentor/mentee matches, totaling 40 PhotoShelter members.

What's the time commitment?

Six weeks, about an hour a week. Photographers are busy, so we're taking on the majority of the structural work to keep things simple and enriching for you and your schedule. Our next class will kick off in the fall of 2021.

What’s the benefit for mentors and mentees?

We want both mentors and mentees to see this program as an opportunity to help one another and foster a sense of community and support. You’ll be able to network, exchange ideas and get exclusive lessons from industry experts.

What happens if I don’t get accepted?

If you aren't chosen for the upcoming mentorship class, don't worry - there will still be plenty of opportunities to connect. You’ll still get access to our creative Slack community and more.

How will I access the mentorship community?

The hub for the community will be on Slack, a messaging platform that is totally free to join and really fun to use! We’ll send you an invitation and you'll sign up with your preferred email and password. It can be used on a computer or mobile device.

What our members are saying

"Thank you so much for this opportunity, this has been one of the best things I’ve ever done professionally, and Jeremy and Caitlyn from PhotoShelter were the perfect facilitators, they brought so much heart and enthusiasm to the program. Helping Jacky has brought me so much joy and I have loved seeing her find what was always there. Please, please keep this going.”

“You have to believe that the right person will come at the right time, when you’re ready for it. I’d been following Daniella Zalcman’s work for a long time and then I got the chance to work with her as part of the PhotoShelter Mentorship Program! On top of that, I now have a community of other people who shared this experience with me and understand it. This giant intimidating thing, the industry and all the money related to it, is less intimidating now."
